Why Donate to Open Windows Foundation?

Guatemala has the lowest literacy rate in Central America and the problem is made worse because even public schools are not free after the primary grades. Our after-school program, lending library and computer classes provide primary school children the academic support they need to be ready to move on to high school, while our scholarship program gives them the financial means to do so. Without a secondary education most of these students would be destined to work in coffee plantations or similar agricultural jobs at very low wages. In Guatemala education is the difference between a life of poverty and a life of hope.

Bequest: You can make a bequest in at least two ways. One is to name Open Windows Foundation as one of the heirs in your will, specifying the amount to go to the Foundation. The amount can be in cash or in property, usually some type of securities. The other method is to create a separate securities account (or bank account) and make Open Windows the beneficiary of that account. While bequests do not provide immediate support to our programs, they are often larger than most donations and thus provide longer term benefit.

Please, make a donation and change the life of a Guatemalan child today.
